This full-time role is hands-on, supporting and executing automation and controls projects for our customers.

Position Summary:
The Automation and Controls Engineer is responsible for the support and execution of automation and control projects with M4 Control Systems customers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for PLC programming and modifications to support client projects.
- Responsible for Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming and modifications to support client projects.
- Prepare network or system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics.
- Interface with project team members to schedule, implement and track automation control projects.
- Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies and other standards of conduct.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge and experience with the engineering, programming, and implementation of industrial control systems required.
- Possess technical problem-solving skills and proven project experience.
- Understanding of control systems, components, PLC programming, HMI programming and their applications required.
- Experience with development and design software including Visual Studio, SQL, Autocad, and Solidworks Electrical preferred.
- Candidate needs to possess good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of clients, co-workers, management and executive staff.
- Ability to read and interpret various technical, operating and process documents, write reports and correspondence both technical and business related.
- Must be a self-starter, have good organizational skills and be able to accept constantly changing priorities.
- Higher level knowledge of Microsoft products including: Outlook, Excel, Word and Access.
Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering Bachelor's or Technical Degree or equivalent work experience required
- 2–5 years of relevant work experience in process engineering, preferably in the dairy, food, or beverage industries
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and prepare reports
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or hold a Permanent Resident Green Card
